How the desk compares external platforms.
Our notes are editorial. They reflect what a UK adult reader is likely to encounter when opening a platform for the first time. We do not claim official ratings or audit results.
The eight things we look at
Ease of use
Can a new reader find the lobby, the filters, and the account menu without wandering through the site?
Clarity of terms
Are eligibility, wagering, and payout terms grouped and readable — or buried inside long help articles?
Mobile experience
How does the platform behave on a small screen — both as a responsive site and, where offered, as a native app?
Safer-play tools
How quickly can a user set a deposit limit, request a time-out, or trigger self-exclusion?
Payment visibility
Are accepted payment methods visible before sign-up rather than after?
Support availability
Live chat, email, response-time signals, and self-service help.
Content variety
The breadth and freshness of the lobby — without confusing the visitor.
Account control
How easy it is to close, restrict, or pause an account once opened.
Scoring
Scores between 1 and 10 are editorial summaries — they reflect what the desk observed, not a regulatory verdict. A higher score does not mean the platform is risk-free. External platforms may involve financial risk and have their own rules.
Update policy
Notes are revisited on a rolling basis. When a platform's lobby, terms, or safer-play behaviour changes, we update the relevant entry rather than leaving an out-of-date description in place.
